Q: What do you enjoy the most about your position/role?
“I’ve been working with students of all ages since the beginning of my career, and working with college students in particular has been the most fulfilling! My work in health promotion services focuses on developing programming around sexual and intimate partner violence. Advising Students Against Violence and getting to work with students around these issues continues to motivate me every day. The students I work with are creative, passionate, and dedicated, and I’m lucky to work in a space where we can cultivate a healthier culture together.”
Q: What workplace achievement or accomplishment are you most proud of?
“I’m particularly proud of the collaborative work being done across campus discussing how to address gaps for students who experience violence. TXST was awarded a grant last year (work that was spearheaded by Dr. Haiyasoso and Dr. Flasch) which aims to develop new response services for victims of violence and help support on-going prevention education. Lack of services tailored for students who experience violence creates a myriad of challenges, and I’m excited to move forward with colleagues to help bring more support to them.”
Q: What’s your favorite hobby or activity outside of the workplace?
“Sleeping is always an ‘activity’ I love. I also love hiking, running, and swimming. Traveling as much as my schedule allows for is also wonderful. Any experience with my family where we are together and trying new things. Since completing graduate school, I’m trying to read for fun again, but I usually just pick sleeping.”
Q: Where’s your favorite place to grab lunch?
“I definitely have a favorite rotation that includes M&M Taco, North Street, Pie Society, and Halal Project! Also, shout out to the Coffee Bar and Stellar coffee, which I look forward to every Friday!”
