Q: What do you enjoy the most about your role?
“I love being able to work with the various departments and community groups. Each day is a new experience and I feel extremely fortunate to be able to work in such a team oriented environment.”
Q: Is there a recent production or performance that you’re most proud to have supported?
“That’s a rather hard question to answer! I’m proud of everyone who walks through our doors to grace our stages. They put their all into the productions and events that they produce and I’m extremely grateful to be able to help them realize their artistic visions.”
Q: What led you to your current job at TXST?
“I began my career as a Stage Manager in Boston where I joined the Actors’ Equity Association. I realized at a certain point in my career that I wanted to work with all mediums of the performing arts. And so, I switched from working in producing theatre to a presenting venue – the Center for the Arts at George Mason University. After 5 years there, I stumbled upon the Performing Arts Center Operations Manager position with Texas State. It checked every box of where I wanted to be in my career. I applied and was ecstatic when they offered me the opportunity to run this beautiful multi-venue facility. I’ve now been here for almost 4 years and I’m loving every minute of it. ”
Q: What energizes or motivates you at work every day?
“Coffee! Haha – but honestly, I absolutely love what I do and the team that I am fortunate to work with.”
Q: What are your favorite hobbies outside of the workplace?
“When I’m not at work, you can usually find me rock climbing or at a yoga class. When I have a bit more time I also love to travel. Most recently I went to Egypt and I can’t begin to describe how breathtaking it was.”
Q: What’s one thing you wish everyone knew about being a TXST employee?
“One of the reasons I came to work for Texas State was their support for the the arts and continued collaboration to grow their programs for the students and community. The support that my team and I have received thus far has allowed us to thrive and, in turn, better present the arts and events that are produced in the Performing Arts Center.”
