Here are some programs already in place our employees should be utilizing to grow their careers, foster a positive culture, and prioritize their well-being.
- Wellness Leave:
- A great way to ensure employees are prioritizing their mental and physical well-being is the Wellness Leave program. This program allows 2.5 hours a week of time off with pay for the purpose of participation in wellness-related activities intended to improve employees’ personal health and wellness. The policy on wellness leave, UPPS 04.04.32 has been merged in with UPPS 04.04.30 University Leave Policy. - Remote Work Flexibility:
- It is important to remember that Texas State University staff employees may be eligible for remote work in accordance with UPPS 04.04.01 General Workplace Policy. All staff employees have 30 work days per fiscal year available for use. All remote time must be tracked via SAP timecards and approved by the supervisor.
- Child Dependent Tuition:
- TXST recognizes that employees and their families are at the heart of what we do. So, TXST offers support to dependent children of benefit-eligible employees for undergraduate tuition. For the 2023-2024 academic year, Texas State University will provide a 25% undergraduate designated tuition benefit to dependent children of benefit-eligible employees. Effective in the Fall 2024 semester, this benefit will increase from 25% to 50%.
- Employee Education Support Programs:
- TXST supports the continuous learning and development of our Bobcat employees. As outlined in UPPS 04.04.35, TXST offers the following educational support programs:
- Staff Educational Development Leave – Earn up to 20 hours of paid class release time with full tuition and fees waived.
- Academic Release & Tuition Support – Take college credit courses while having your designated tuition and fees waived, and additionally receive 3 hours of paid class leave.
- G.E.D. Attainment – Further your career and get reimbursed for the cost of G.E.D. assessment fees.
- TXST supports the continuous learning and development of our Bobcat employees. As outlined in UPPS 04.04.35, TXST offers the following educational support programs:
