We are proud to recognize Rick Myers, Senior Information Security Analyst in the Information Security Office, as the August 2024 Employee of the Month. Rick serves as the team lead for the Security Operations team, overseeing essential security functions that safeguard the university’s infrastructure. From managing firewalls and VPNs to conducting penetration tests and vulnerability scans, Rick’s role is both diverse and crucial to the overall security of our systems.
With over a decade of experience on the team, Rick has become a go-to resource for IT professionals across the university. His expertise and willingness to assist other departments with troubleshooting and setting up new services make him an invaluable asset. Rick’s commitment to helping others extends well beyond the typical scope of his role, consistently demonstrating his dedication to the success of the university’s IT operations.
In addition to his technical contributions, Rick plays a key role in shaping the team’s procedures and fostering growth.
