Since 2022, Stephanie has reviewed over 20,000 meningitis documentation records. Before she took on this responsibility, students often faced a 48 to 72-hour waiting period due to reliance on a third-party vendor. Through Stephanie’s hands-on approach, she has streamlined the process, reducing the typical processing time to under 24 hours. This swift turnaround helps students register for classes quicker and alleviates a major stress point for students and their families during an already demanding time.
Stephanie’s attention to detail and commitment to student success reflect her dedication to service excellence. Her contributions not only enhance the administrative efficiency of the Admissions team but also demonstrate a sincere commitment to improving students’ overall experience at Texas State.

Q&A with Stephanie White
What do you enjoy most about working at Texas State?
“I appreciate the vibrant culture here, from the diverse events and activities to the beautiful surroundings. Being part of an institution that values growth and learning, both personally and professionally, truly makes my experience fulfilling. It’s rewarding to contribute to the university’s mission and see the positive impact we have on students’ lives.”
Can you share a project or accomplishment you’re particularly proud of?
“One of the most significant projects I’ve taken on was reviewing and processing all mandatory meningitis documentation for both the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses. Since 2022, I have reviewed over 20,000 records. Previously, we relied on a third-party vendor to process these documents, which typically took between 48 to 72 hours. By managing this process myself, I was able to reduce the wait time for students to less than 24 hours, allowing them to register for classes more quickly. Meningitis documentation is a critical component of the new student enrollment process, often adding stress for students and their families. My diligent efforts in streamlining this process helped alleviate some of that stress, making the transition smoother for everyone involved.”
What advice would you give to someone just starting at the university?
“Take the time to connect with your colleagues and learn about the various departments and resources available. Building relationships early on can help you feel more integrated and supported. Familiarize yourself with university policies and procedures, as they can help you navigate your role more effectively. Also, take advantage of professional development opportunities. Texas State offers various workshops and training sessions that can enhance your skills and knowledge. Finally, remember to find a balance between your work and personal life. Taking care of yourself will help you perform at your best. Enjoy your time here, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact you’ll make!”
What do you like to do when you’re not at work? Any hobbies or interests?
“Traveling is my greatest passion! There’s nothing quite like hitting the open road and embracing the freedom of adventure. I love belting out tunes at the top of my lungs, even if the passing cars give me the occasional curious glance! When I’m not exploring, I enjoy spending time on my mini farm with chickens, goats, ducks, and, of course, my lovable potbelly pig, Johnny. They always bring a smile to my face and add a bit of joy to my days!”
How has your role here helped you grow personally or professionally?
“Learning to navigate challenges in leadership has been crucial for my personal and professional development. The support from my colleagues has fostered a collaborative and creative environment, which has significantly boosted my confidence. This experience has taught me the invaluable role of teamwork and effective communication in achieving our collective goals.”
