Suzanne Fox and President Kelly Damphousse

We’re thrilled to recognize Suzanne Fox, Director of Global Admissions, as our February 2025 Employee of the Month! Known for her steady leadership, team-first attitude, and unwavering commitment to student success, Suzanne has made a lasting impact at Texas State University over the course of her remarkable 25-plus-year career.

A Coach at Heart

Suzanne currently oversees the Undergraduate Admissions Processing office and has led her team through a year full of growth and change. Under her guidance, the office has expanded to take on graduate admissions processing, contributed to initiatives like the Bats to Cats program, and supported the implementation of the TXST Transfer Planner

Described as “a true team player,” or more accurately, “the team coach,” Suzanne keeps multiple projects moving with humor, calm, and confidence. Her colleagues say it best: “You can ALWAYS count on Suzanne, and we are very lucky to have her on the TXST team.”

Heart for the People

When asked what she enjoys most about working at Texas State, Suzanne shared that it’s the people who make it special. “The people are what I enjoy most… I consider them my ‘work family.'” Over the years, she has built strong relationships across campus, and she encourages new employees to do the same. “Be open to meeting new people and learning about the functions of different offices. TXST is a special place with lots of incredible people who are willing to lend a helping hand.”

A Career of Impact

Suzanne’s proudest accomplishments aren’t tied to a single project but to a bigger purpose. “We are committed to changing lives, one student at a time,” she said. “Being able to provide students with the opportunity to earn a college degree is a true blessing.” Her passion for student success has inspired countless others across the university.

Lifelong Lessons and Love of the Game

Having served as the former head coach for Women’s Basketball, Suzanne brings that same energy and balance into her leadership role today. “I have learned not to get too high or too low,” she shared. “Enjoy the good times, and learn from the challenging times.”

Outside of work, Suzanne still carries her love for sports. “Basketball is, of course, my favorite,” she said, “but I enjoy watching athletes compete in all kinds of sporting events.”

Congratulations, Suzanne!

Please join us in celebrating Suzanne Fox for her years of dedication, her exceptional leadership, and her unwavering commitment to students and colleagues alike. Texas State is a better place because of people like you, Suzanne—thank you for everything you do!
