Texas State Human Resources is proud to recognize Amy Oakes, Academic Program Coordinator in the International Studies Program, as our June 2025 Employee of the Month!
Amy’s dedication to students and her passion for building connections across the globe make her a standout member of the Texas State community. As the main undergraduate advisor for the Center for International Studies, Amy guides more than 400 majors and minors through their degree plans with care, professionalism, and creativity. She ensures students stay on track toward graduation while also helping them explore opportunities that align with their career goals. Whether writing letters of recommendation, assisting with course substitutions, or helping students find internships, Amy goes above and beyond to support every Bobcat she works with.
Her contributions extend far beyond advising. Amy assists with graduate student applications, plays a key role in the Center’s curriculum development, and is integral to the program’s outreach and alumni relations. She proudly represents the Center at Bobcat Days, strengthens its social media presence, and expands Texas State’s international reach through her involvement with campuses and partnerships in Mexico, England, New Zealand, and Japan.
Amy’s impact is felt not only by her colleagues but especially by the students she serves. Many have credited her guidance as a key factor in their success and achievements. Her work truly embodies quality service, student-centered dedication, and a deep commitment to the university’s mission.
