September is Suicide Prevention Month — a time to raise awareness and get trained in Mental Health First Aid because suicide is preventable! Suicide has become a leading cause of death and suicidal thoughts and mental illness can affect anyone regardless of age, gender, or background. It is important to have the tools and resources to better support our students and other members of TXST.
Take the time to learn more about common symptoms and signs of mental illness. Texas State, in collaboration with Mental Health First Aid and the Hill Country MHDDC, is offering courses to provide tools and resources on interacting with and supporting someone working through mental illness and providing self-care support. Together we can support people around us and let them know there is help, hope, healing, and recovery is possible!
Sign up for one of the training courses below today to become a Mental Health First-Aider. “Learn the signs, get the tools, and #BeTheDifference in someone’s life.”
