For Anna, the best part of working at Texas State is the people. “I love the opportunity to connect with faculty, staff, and students from all walks of life, which makes every day interesting and enriching,” she shares. Making a Meaningful Impact
One of Anna’s most rewarding accomplishments has been assisting international students with tax determination through Sprintax Calculus. “It is incredibly rewarding to help them navigate the complexities of the tax system, ensuring they are compliant,” she explains. Knowing she plays a role in their success makes her work even more meaningful.
Advice for New Employees
Anna knows that starting a new job can feel overwhelming, but she has some great advice: “Familiarize yourself with the campus layout, key buildings, and facilities. This will help you navigate more confidently.” She also encourages new employees to fully understand their responsibilities, ask questions when needed, and take advantage of training programs and workshops. “These opportunities can help you develop skills and adapt to your new role.”
Growing Through Payroll
Anna’s role has helped her develop both professionally and personally. “I’ve gained a deep understanding of payroll systems, tax regulations, and compliance, enhancing my problem-solving skills and attention to detail.” But beyond that, her work has strengthened her communication and interpersonal skills. “Managing deadlines and sensitive information has also strengthened my organizational and ethical standards.”
