On the outskirts of San Marcos lies Kissing Tree, a bustling 55+ active community with nearly 3,000 homes, quickly becoming a sought-after place to live. Yet, beyond its borders, residents are curious—they seek ways to connect with the university they share their homes with. What better way to do so than by exploring Texas State?

But why Texas State? For Kissing Tree residents, contributing to the nearby university aligns perfectly with their values. So, when the opportunity arose to explore the campus, they jumped at the opportunity.

The tour was packed with exciting moments. Led by student guides Kerri and Hayden, the group caught a glimpse into student life with a tour of the LBJ Student Center. Then, it was off to the bookstore to grab some Bobcat gear. The adventure continued with a glass-bottom boat tour at the Meadows Center and a visit to Bobcat Stadium’s Champions Club, offering a unique perspective on the university’s charm.

As hosts, we were delighted by how involved and interested the residents were. Their enthusiasm reminded us of the importance of community. The Glass Bottom Boat Tours and the Wittliff Collections were clear favorites, leaving a lasting impression.

Considering the tour’s impact, it’s undeniable that it has the residents of Kissing Tree eager to get more involved. We know they left feeling more connected to the Bobcat community, excited to explore what’s next.

Looking ahead, this tour marks just the beginning of the Kissing Tree + TXST Partnership, or “KT @ TXST”. With a host of events on the horizon, the future is bright. As we wish our guests a heartfelt “See you later,” with appreciation for the connections made and moments shared. Eat ‘em up Cats!
